Retro vibe collage tufting
The tufted pieces featured in this fair are inspired by geometric and organic patterns of the 70s and 80s. Each one pulls iconic shapes and colors from their respective eras and reincorporates them into tufted collages.
Each piece is recognizable and at the same time refreshing by remixing these iconic eras of pattern design and illustration. The mirrors invite visitors to become part of the sculpture's artwork.

Ally Petris is a designer and artist based in Queens, NY. Currently, she is the instructor of GO TUFTING NYC studio. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Design in 2021. She values beautiful items as a storyteller and has worked in props and wardrobe styling for photoshoots, video shoots, and films.
Her tufted work experiments with design and illustration as textiles, bringing vectorized shapes into the 3-dimensional world through tufting.
Producing process:
Ally Petris’s work often intertwines digital and physical techniques, taking elements from the content she is consuming, often digital media, nature, fine art, or fashion, and channeling them into whichever creative technique she is learning at the moment, from paper-making to production design to textile design.
In this process, she often pulls from memories and experiences in her own life to create work that evokes a sense of nostalgic playfulness.
